COVID specific information
We are delighted to welcome you to our home here at Glencoe Guest House and thank you for choosing to stay here with us.
In order to make our premises Covid 19 Secure, there are several new government guidelines we now need to follow, which may affect the way we do things for the foreseeable future.
In this document we will outline additional practices to the usually high standards we abide by here at Glencoe Guesthouse.
Your safety and enjoyment of your time here is of paramount importance to us and as such if you have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to chat these through with us at any time during your stay and most importantly if you become unwell during your stay.

In order to comply with the social distancing regulations, we will be operating a booking system for the breakfast room, allowing guests from only 2 rooms in at a time.
As such breakfast service will be extended from 8am to 9.30am, with 2 slots of 45mins as follows; 8am – 8.45am, 8.45am –9.30am. Once you have chosen your preferred time for breakfast we respectfully ask you to come down at that time to help us offer a safe environment for all our guests.
Instead of the usual self-service buffet, there will now be a request form to complete for you to choose what you would like and we will serve this to you and your cooked breakfast order will be taken in the usual way.
Your breakfast orders will be placed on a separate table for you to collect so we can maintain the required distance at all times.
Unfortunately, our usual supply of information leaflets have been removed, however, we still have them available, so please ask us for any maps/walking routes etc and we’ll be happy to lend them to you. Please use the hand sanitiser before and after your breakfast. Thank you.
We are happy to service your room for the duration of your stay and do so in your absence as before, however, if you would prefer us not to please just let us know.
Thorough cleaning and disinfection of all “touch points” will be done when guests check out and prior to the room being occupied by new guests in addition to all public spaces.
All bed linen and towels are laundered by Shortridge to BS EN 14065 & HTM 01-04 standards ensuring they are hygienically clean in line with NHS infection control measures.
A blanket and spare pillows are provided in a sealed vacuum bag. If you use these please leave them on the bed and we will know to wash them for the next guest.
The hospitality tray is completely replaced for each new guest and topped up each day as necessary. Items not used are put aside for 72 hrs before being put into rooms again. Please remember to wash your hands before using the hospitality tray.
If you become unwell
If you experience any symptoms that could be COVID 19 related while staying with us, please let us know as soon as possible. Following government guidelines, you should stay in your room until we have discussed a plan of action. This will ensure everyone is protected. Thank you
Handwashing is vital to the reduction of transmission. As the owners of Glencoe GH you can rest assured that we will continue to wash our hands in line with the Government guidelines and request that whilst staying with us, you do the same.
Personal handwashing facilities are available to all guests in your own rooms and 70% alcohol based hand sanitisers are also available for use in;
the breakfast room - to be used
- on entering the building and
- before & after having breakfast and
- before helping yourself to the pre sliced portions of homemade cake which is available in the breakfast room until we set up for breakfast ( we request in return a donation for the Keswick Mountain Rescue J our office - to be used
- when settling the bill or completing registration documents.
- Collecting maps/walking routes/local information
You’ve only just arrived, so it seems wrong to be talking about the day of your departure already, however, in line with new guidelines we are trying to make this as contact free as possible.
Check out time is 10am and we request that this is observed to give us sufficient time to get your room ready for the next guest.
The card you used to make the deposit has been encrypted on our payment system and we will take any balance outstanding for your stay from that same card on the morning of your departure.
Please let us know if you have changed the card since paying the deposit or you wish the balance to be taken from a different card.
The keys for your room should be left on the shelf by the grandfather clock in the entrance hall and we will say our farewells before you travel home.
You will probably need to book all your restaurant and pub tables in advance, check out their webpages for individual operating procedures and if you have any questions we’ll be happy to help.
If you would like to bring hot food back here, please use the breakfast room and we’ll get the plates and cutlery out for you.
